Blogging
When I learned that everyone was required to create a blog and frequently share thoughts, I was a bit worried due to the general private nature and insecurities I have pertaining to my ideas and creativity. Although I believe I can be relatively creative, I sometimes worry about other people's opinions and can get bogged down by this. Learning to overcome these insecurities has been a challenge but I find I am constantly improving and more open each and every day.
I originally wondered why blogging has become so popular and something that seems as though a large population of people partake in, which prompted me to do some research. Blogging can be quite helpful to those attempting to learn about a particular subject or share particular experiences or even everyday experiences. Different blogs appeal to different people and I have found myself reading blogs about particular things I find interesting such as religion, education, politics, and travel.
When choosing the title of my blog and background, I struggled a bit but eventually stuck to particular ideas. The title I chose represents my idea of blogging and trying to navigate through the site while tapping into my creative side. My background picture portrays an eagle and I am not quite sure why, which might seem strange. I have a particular affinity for eagles and have learned a lot about them. I might change my background eventually though, I am still contemplating this.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the process of creating a blog, despite my insecurities. I believe this course this semester will allow me to not only share my ideas, but learn so much about other people's ideas and opinions, which will only enlarge my view on technical writing and particular assignments assigned. I look forward to constant growth, improvements, and criticism throughout the course.
What you write here validates the work *and* shows your willingness to try new things -- all fantastic creative and professional skills! Your post reminds me of this passage I read from a young and fab author, Heather Havriesky. Perhaps you'll want to read her piece, "The Miracle of the Mundane." In it, she wonders, "Imagine being told that your talent is a miracle, and you have just one job. You don’t have to be happy or successful or attractive or well-balanced as a human being. You don’t have to accrue wealth or maintain lots of friendships or seem impressive in any other way." Part of what I love blogging is that by compelling students to write, they come to see the small, evolving, and always present miraculous genius inside. I'm glad you're with us in this work!

Thank you! I will definitely read up on this.
